-Hotel & Fine Dining Restaurant In the 2016 Guide –

Thornton Hall Hotel & Spa and its fine dining restaurant the Lawns have been included in this year’s Great Britain and Ireland Michelin Guide 2016.

Reference to the hotel and its restaurant makes Thornton Hall Hotel & Spa one of only a few properties in the UK to be named twice in the same guide.

The news is very welcome for the Thornton Hall team which has invested heavily in the 62-bedroom hotel in the last year, spending £580k on an ongoing programme of refurbishment works and with another £100k spend planned.

Work has included landscaping the front of the hotel, creating a new wood-panelled reception, continuing the phased refurbishment of hotel bedrooms to create a modern, boutique feel as well as extending the kitchen. Refurbishment of the restaurant is scheduled for later this month.

General manager of Thornton Hall Hotel & Spa, Geoff Dale said: “Both the hotel and the restaurant have been included in the guide for the last two years so this year’s achievement makes it a hat trick. It’s a real nod to the hard work and consistency of our team and we’re very pleased to appear in the guide.

Executive chef Matt Worswick joined Thornton Hall Hotel & Spa at the end of 2014. He said: “Every chef wants to be recognised for their work and happy diners in the restaurant is what makes me get out of bed every day. Inclusion in the guide shows that our hard work is paying off.”
