The new Echo Area, and BT Convention Centre Liverpool is hosting some fantastic events with big name stars appearing on stage, click here to see what's on. Thornton Hall is ideally located for you to enjoy a show and the next day visit Chester or spend the day relaxing in our fabulous Spa.

Liverpool is home to the new Liverpool One Shopping district including many big name stores such as John Lewis, Debenhams, and many smaller select stores.  Also on the terrace overlooking Chevasse Park and the Albert Docks is a large section or Restaurants for you to enjoy a leisurely lunch and a break from the shops.

Liverpool is also the birthplace of the Beatles - probably the most famous band in history.  The Beatles story Museum at the Albert Dock is definitely worth a visit and you can take the Magical Mystery Tour around the city to see the many Beatles landmarks.

Chester

Visit the ancient City of Chester,  steeped in history - wall the Roman Walls surounding the oldest parts of the city centre.  Take a boat trip on the River Dee,  or a walk along the banks if you prefer dry land.

Great shopping combined with sofisticated restaurants and bars make Chester one of the great tourist cities in the North West.

Wirral Peninsula

The Wirral Peninsular is located between the Rivers Dee and Mersey with docks and many tourist attractions overlooking the Mersey and rolling countryside with many different attraction overlooking the Dee.  This diverse area is home to Port Sunlight,  the village built by the Lever Soap Manufacturers in the last century to house the factory workers in what was then luxury suroundings with great facilities for their families.  Port Sunlight now has a museum Port Sunlight Vision where you can revisit the golden era of the factory and see what made this village so special.  

Whether you are looking to walk on Thurstaston Common,  watch birds along the banks of the Dee (RSPB reserve) or see the seals off Hilbre Island Wirral has so much to do and see....will a short break be long enough?

Thornton Hall is located in the picturesque village of Thornton Hough,  originally of small settlement dating back to doomesday times,  it was then adopted as the family seat of the Leverhulme Family (Founders of the Lever Soap empire) where many of the buildings date from.   Take a relaxing wander to the village green or maybe a bike ride along the milleneum route through the village.
